A Wordless Advent/Christmas Meditation

Chuck's Song is perfect for Advent

Way back when the first of us future Living Waters types met through prayer meetings in the early 70s at Oblates in Maine, we were all drawn to creating inspired songs. Chuck wrote a beautiful piece which was essentially an instrumental, featuring his marching valve trombone. The choir simply sang “Allelu! Allelu! Alleluia!”. I remember starting the first line on the guitar in the intro when we did it with the Maine Catholic Charismatic Choir back then. It was so prayerful, and it was one of our favorites for sure. I never forgot it.

Well, just this past year, I had been doing a lot of work reviving old Living Waters songs. I felt inspired to create something for Chuck’s song on GarageBand and then I showed it to Chuck. He made several wonderful arrangement suggestions which I incorporated into the audio. I then created the video imaging you see here and released this audio-visual package for Advent 2023. The inspiration is still happening, it seems.

John actually came up with some words for this! We were supposed to work on it this year, but, sadly, that never happened. ): Maybe we will do something next year. At least we can still use this creation to pray Advent this year again, making it the beginning of a tradition!

The prophets’ vision approaches its amazing dawn, the angels prepare the most joyful night of all time amid the cold and poverty. Let us approach with reverence & joy!
